410 HP in the Audi RS3 from chip tuning experts RaceChip
For 699 EUR, the RS3 takes pole position with the RaceChip Ultimate
The RaceChip RS3 puts a smile on your face
With the current version of the 2.5 TFSI, Audi has brought to the market the first petrol engine that uses a combination of analogue and digital sensors. This posed a particular challenge to the development department of chip tuning manufacturer RaceChip. With the RaceChip RS3, our engineers are proud to present the first chip tuning technology that simultaneously regulates both digital and analogue sensors. Optically the show car’s wrap brings to mind the legendary Audi quattro. Under the bonnet is the iconic five-cylinder engine with the RaceChip
Ultimate, which boosts performance to 410 HP and 520 Nm (factory 367 HP and 465 Nm). To savour the power enhancement in all directions, the RaceChip RS3 features the KW Clubsport 3-way suspension and extremely lightweight OZ Ultraleggera HLT wheels (8.5x19 ET47). The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres provide perfect grip and add the finishing touch. The factory-model RS3 – certainly anything but sluggish – has taken a big leap forward with this performance enhancement, its all-wheel drive converting the extra power into thrust out of a standing start. An engine performance of more than 400 HP from a 2.5 TFSI engine – which Audi itself plans for the new TT RS with the same engine – thereby becomes reality for the proud RS3-owner who appreciates the true motor sport experience. The RaceChip Ultimate costs 699 euros and comes with RaceChip’s two-year engine warranty. The market leader in chip tuning continues to offer impressive performance enhancement at affordable prices.
Vehicle sensor technology showcases major innovation
RaceChip was already a technological pioneer with its adaptation of SENT technology for the chip tuning market (SENT is a new serial protocol for sensors in the automotive industry). With its development of electronic performance enhancement that utilizes both analogue and digital sensor data, the Göppingen-based company has positioned itself well out ahead of the competition. RaceChip’s 10-member development department invested almost 12 months in the development of this technology. The performance enhancement was extensively tested, all the way from the development to the production stages. The technically complex solution offers the customer performance enhancement that is even more fine-tuned to the specific vehicle. The vehicle’s performance is thereby adjusted to a precision that is unmatched. According to Dirk Bongardt, COO and head of technical development, RaceChip’s new chip tuning technology can fine tune the performance enhancement of each engine to such a precise degree, regardless of the particular sensor technology, that you could describe the process as like fitting the engine and its performance characteristics with a bespoke suit. “We take an approach with the Ultimate that ensures the functionality of our products even in the very latest generation of engines. Our customers can have an even better product experience through continuously finer adjustments”, explained Dirk Bongardt.
Significant developments in technology and production
In addition to its technical developments in vehicle sensor technology, RaceChip has also introduced a new tool for the programming of performance enhancement that guarantees even higher quality standards. The RaceChip Ultimate also features a processor that has been specially developed for automotive applications and it continues to use Bluetooth connectivity for the Connect feature. Improved energy management means that the Ultimate consumes less electricity. Software error incidence has been minimalized and thus meets the highest automotive standards. A new production concept has been developed in parallel to the technical details. The complete examination of all components immediately after production and the full traceability of all of RaceChip’s chip tuning components guarantee the same standards as one finds with the major global automotive suppliers.
